Good to know before you book
Pace. Moderate. Two to three hours on foot on city days, standing at some shows, and late nights.
Good to know. The last day is a four-hour round trip to Aberdeen before evening flights. Rain is likely from October to May. Some grunge sites are ordinary houses or parks with little to see; the guide makes the stories.
Weather and changes. Shows and studio visits run in all weather; if a venue cancels, we replace it with one of the same kind and tell you in writing.
Flights to Seattle
Most of our guests fly in on their own, drive, or use miles, and the tour price does not include flights. If you would rather we handle it, we book round-trip economy flights on scheduled airlines to Seattle and back, and the airport pickup on the tour dates is already included.

Seattle sound: your questions
Activity
Moderate. Two to three hours on foot on city days, standing at some shows, and late nights.
Group size
Up to 14 guests with one tour leader and a driver.
Meals
Breakfast daily and 2 dinners.
Age and ID
Adults only. Bring a photo ID: many clubs check it at the door whatever your age. More in our questions.
Why only four days?
Seattle's music sites are close together. Four days covers them without hurry; add nights to see more of the city.
Is the Aberdeen trip on the last day?
Yes, and flights home should leave after six in the evening. If yours is earlier, we arrange a transfer from Seattle instead.
Who is the guide?
A musician who played in Seattle bands in the 1990s and still knows the club owners.
Do I need to like grunge?
It helps. The Hendrix day and the museum interest anyone who loves rock.
Four nights of Chicago music: the Chess studio by day, Buddy Guy's club, the North Side blues bars and the Green Mill, where Capone's booth still faces the door.
Five days on South Congress with a club every night: the Continental Club, ACL Live, a two-step lesson at the Broken Spoke, and the rock rooms of Red River.
