Music tour FAQ: booking, shows and travel
The questions we hear most often, grouped by topic. If yours is not here, email [email protected] and someone in our Nashville office will answer within one business day.

Booking and payment
How do I book?
Email [email protected] with the tour, the date, the number of travelers and whether you want flights. We hold your seats for 72 hours, and a $300 deposit per person confirms them.
When is the balance due?
60 days before departure. We send a reminder two weeks before that date. Day tours are paid in full when you book.
Can I change my date?
Yes. Move to another date of the same tour, or to another tour, free of charge up to 45 days before departure. Any price difference applies. Festival dates are the exception, because the tickets are bought for that weekend.
Do you offer discounts?
Book any 2027 tour of four days or more by and save $150 per person. Last-minute savings and solo dates are on the deals page.
How do I pay?
By card or bank transfer. Payments are held in a separate client trust account until you travel.

Flights and getting there
Are flights included?
No. Every tour page shows an optional flights add-on from New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and six other US cities.
Can I drive to the start?
Of course, and many guests do. Hotels charge for parking downtown; we tell you the rate and can book a space.
Can I arrive early or stay longer?
Yes. We book extra nights at the tour hotel at the group rate, before or after the tour.

On tour
How big are the groups?
Up to 14 guests, the size of one van, and 8 to 12 on many dates.
Who leads the group?
A named tour leader from our team for the whole tour, with local guides in the studios and museums.
Can I travel alone?
Yes, and many of our guests do. Pay the single supplement shown on each tour, or ask us to pair you with a roommate of the same gender who is also traveling alone.
How late are the nights?
Shows in the program usually end by eleven. After that, your tour leader goes on with anyone who wants more and walks the rest back to the hotel.
Is there an age limit?
Our tours are for adults. Many clubs are 21 and over, and most check ID at the door whatever your age, so carry a photo ID.

Shows, clubs and festivals
Do you know who will be playing?
For theaters and the Opry, we confirm the lineup about two months ahead. Clubs book their bands closer to the date; your tour leader sends the week's picks before you arrive.
Are festival tickets included?
Yes. On festival trips the tickets are bought for the weekend of your departure and are in the price, with shuttles to the grounds.
Can I see a show that is not on the program?
Yes. Tell us before you go and we try to buy tickets for anything that fits a free evening.
Do studios still record?
Several do. FAME, Muscle Shoals Sound, Sun Studio and RCA Studio B all host sessions or events, so visit times are set a few weeks ahead.

Money and insurance
Is travel insurance included?
No. We strongly suggest a policy with cancellation and medical cover, bought soon after your deposit.
How much spending money do I need?
For lunches, the other dinners, drinks and cover charges, budget about $60 to $100 a day per person.
Are tips included?
No. As a guide, $8 to $12 per guest per day for the tour leader and driver together, and whatever you like for the bands.
