Accessibility statement

What we have done so everyone can use this site, how we test it, where it still falls short and how to tell us about a problem.

Our aim

We want everyone to be able to find and book a music tour on this site, whether they use a mouse, a keyboard, a screen reader, a phone or a large text size. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Every page has one main heading, a clear heading order and named regions, and a "Skip to content" link as the first thing you can tab to.
  • Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Our dropdown lists are built to the ARIA listbox pattern: arrow keys, Enter, Escape and type-ahead work, and on phones the list opens as a sheet with a title and a close button.
  • Text and buttons meet the contrast ratio of 4.5 to 1 or more, and the layout holds up when text is zoomed to 200%.
  • Every photo has a text description, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Departure dates, prices and tour facts are real text and tables, never pictures of text.

How we test

We check pages with automated tools such as Lighthouse and by hand: by keyboard only, at phone and desktop sizes, and with text zoomed in. We fix what we find before a page goes live.

Known limitations

  • The maps are a visual extra. Every place on a map is also named in the text of the tour or destination page.
  • Photos come from many photographers, so descriptions are written by us and may miss a detail.
  • Gift cards are sent as a PDF; if you need the text in another format, ask and we will send it.

Accessibility on tour

Some of the historic places we visit have steps, narrow doors or standing room only, and our van has a step at the door. Tell us what you need when you write and we will tell you honestly which tours and venues work, and what we can arrange.

Report a problem

If something on this site does not work for you, email [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject line and the page you were on. We reply within two business days, and we can always send tour details by email in plain text.
