This site sets no cookies

Backbeat Roads does not set any cookies on this website. There is no analytics, no advertising tag, no social media pixel and no chat widget, so nobody tracks what you read here. That is why you see no cookie banner.

We do not use local storage or similar browser storage either. Your browser keeps copies of our pages, fonts and photos in its normal cache so the next page loads faster; you can clear that cache at any time.

The maps on tour and destination pages

Our maps are built with Leaflet, an open-source map library, and show map tiles from Esri. When a page with a map opens, your browser fetches:

  • the Leaflet script and style sheet from cdnjs, a public library service run by Cloudflare (cdnjs.cloudflare.com), and
  • the map tiles from Esri ArcGIS Online (server.arcgisonline.com).

Like any server, these services receive your IP address and browser details to send the files. In our tests they set no cookies through our pages. Their own privacy policies explain what they log.

The "Write the email" buttons open the email program on your own device with a message ready to send. Nothing is sent to us until you press send in that program.

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and cached files in its privacy settings. Blocking cookies does not change how this site works, because it does not rely on them.

If we ever add a tool that sets cookies that are not strictly needed, such as visitor statistics, we will list it here and ask for your consent first, with an equally easy way to say no. Questions go to [email protected]. See also our privacy policy.
